The recent club AGM was well attended. All executive positions and team managers were appointed. Joe Kelly (chairman) Anne Monaghan (secretary) and Darragh Loughnane (treasurer) were all reappointed for a second year. Paul Murphy stepped down as PRO after 5 years with Jarlath Cloonan his replacement. Paul Murphy replaces Emmet Caulfield as vice chairman. Shane Cummins replaces Gary Hession as football board delegate. Declan McGlynn moves to Juvenile Chairman, while Brian O’Regan was appointed juvenile secretary.
In total, 51 positions were filled for executive and team management roles between the AGM and the Juvenile AGM, held the previous week. The final appointment of the night saw Tom Cloonan take the position of Club President. Tom spoke of his lifelong passion for the GAA and his club and of the honour he felt at being appointed President.
In his address, club chairman Joe Kelly thanked the army of volunteers who contributed to a memorable year for the club on and off the pitch. The opening of the new pitch in Carnaun by GAA president Jarlath Burns was the off-field highlight. On the field of play, winning Senior B, Junior A, Minor A and U16A in hurling and Junior C in football made 2024 a year to remember.
In her address, secretary Anne Monaghan also thanked everyone for their efforts in 2024, pointing to the lotto committee, maintenance committee, referees, medics, managers and selectors for all their work. She also paid tribute to Leoanrd Fay who stepped down as Juvenile chairman for all his great work.
